First Polish premiere of new "Traffic Evasion" system
The presentation of the first Polish "Traffic Evasion" system for mobile phones manufactured by NaviExpert Company took place on 28 November 2007 in Warsaw. Intelligent "Traffic Evasion" system has been created with Community Traffic technology developed by NaviExpert specialists and makes it possible for regular drivers to drive in cities and on roads with local taxi drivers, couriers and professional drivers efficiency by designating fastest routes with typical traffic evasion.
Traffic-free navigation system has been developed by Polish NaviExpert Company. The company founders and board members have great experience gained in Faculty of Computing Science of Poznan University of Technology. "Traffic Evasion" navigation is version 3.0 of an interactive NaviExpert "on-line" navigation system that works with most of modern mobile phones. Thanks to new functionality, the NaviExpert system users can evade typical traffic on most jammed streets of Warsaw and other Polish cities and on national roads that would be chosen by best experts, ex. local taxi drivers and professional drivers. Therefore the user can reach the destination much faster.
"Thanks to Community Traffic technology which uses real driving speed times and thanks to current roadworks database and digital map stored and continuously updated on the server, NaviExpert system is much better than traditional GPS navigation," says Mr. Maciej Hapke, president of the board of NaviExpert company.
NaviExpert system is better than traditional GPS navigation thanks to technology that uses information about average driving speeds gathered from the users. Moreover, the users complete and verify information about roadworks and other obstructions gathered by the operator. The information provided by the users community helps with designating fastest routes as traffic jams and closed roads are evaded.
"Community Traffic technology used for route planning with statistical driving speed data gathered from the system users is globally unique. We have not heard about any similar solutions. The traffic monitoring systems used in other countries are based on underground sensors or cameras and do not provide all the information used by Community Traffic" - adds Mr. Andrzej Jaszkiewicz, vice president of NaviExpert company, system originator and architect.
Traffic-free routes in NaviExpert system have been optimized for day and week time. Optimal route between two points may vary, ex. in the morning and afternoon rush hours and beyond rush hours. The users also safely reach their destinations thanks to continuously updated photoradar and dangerous spot database.
Menu layout has been rebuilt in the new version. It is now much easier to choose frequently used options. "Show direction" option has been added to map menu. The option indicates the direction to a destination point without route designation. The function is really useful for mushroom collectors and people who have problems with finding their parked cars.
Satellite navigation is the type of radio navigation that uses radio waves from artificial satellites to determine location of spots and mobile receivers along with movement parameters at any place on Earth's surface. The most popular satellite navigation system is GPS (Global Positioning System).
The perspectives of navigation market development in European Union and Poland are very promising. Satellite navigation solution advantages were appreciated by approximately 200 thousand drivers in Poland and 10-15% of drivers in Western Europe. The number of navigation devices in European Union has reached 20 million this year and should reach approximately 40 million in 2010. The number of navigation devices in Poland has reached approximately 200 thousand in 2007 and by 2010 the number of Polish drivers equipped with navigation systems will reach the same level as in Western Europe - 10-15%, which is 1-1.5 million of navigation users.

2 million PLN for development of NaviExpert system - first Polish navigation system for mobile phones.
Naviexpert Company from Poznan, which originates from Faculty of Science in Poznan University of Technology, has found an investor - MCI Management SA fund. Naviexpert Company is first in Poland to offer inexpensive satellite navigation solutions for mobile phones. The goal of MCI investment is to support the company on its way to become the Polish leader in on-line satellite navigation solution segment which is foreseen do happen within 2 years.
Naviexpert system works with most mobile phones and guides the user "from door to door" with help of precise voice messages. The system designates routes to specified address that can be chosen from among 1.7 million buildings in Poland or from almost 60 thousand points such as ATMs, companies or gas stations. Naviexpert provides the mobile phone application for free. The subscription fee is 189 PLN per year.
MCI investment plans to refinance the Company with 2.000.000 PLN. Individual stages of the investment are realized in years 2006-2009.
o The first refinance round (450.000 PLN) is currently realized and is connected with taking 47.37% of the Company business capital by MCI Company.
o The second round (550.000) will be realized after year 2007 and will result in taking next Company shares based on company index evaluation on 31.12.2007.
o The third round will be realized according to the Company needs after year 2008.
MCI financial resources will be spent in marketing and sale activities, on product development, new added services and also on team development and organization support. Investment agreement terms state preferential conditions exit transaction for MCI.
"After more than 20 months of system development and a year of our presence in the market we made our decision to associate with MCI fund. Although Naviexpert is currently appreciated by approximately 1000 users, it is still poorly recognizable in the navigation market. MCI's financial support will let us begin the marketing activity in a very dynamically developing market of satellite navigation. We currently offer a navigation system that works with mobile phones and offers the most detailed and up-to-date maps of Poland. However we want to develop it to use all possibilities of "on-line" technology. Route designation with automatic traffic and roadwork evasion is an example of such development. This is just one of the applications, as the "on-line" technology gives much more. The product development toward this technology is our next goal, which we want to reach thanks to MCI investment. I believe that realization of those plans will make us a leader of Polish market of satellite navigation for mobile phones in 2008" - says Mr. Maciej Hapke, President of the Board at NaviExpert Company.
Mr. Piotr Kłodnicki, Investment Director at MCI, responsible for project realization comments the Fund investments: "NaviExpert project is a typical example of technological investment. The company has been operating commercially for just a few months and is still poorly recognizable. However, the product is perfectly technologically prepared. The founders focused on good product preparation by investing in research and development. It is proven by professional approach to the project and its creative potential. MCI resources will be spent on further development and project improvement and not on creating it. It is also worth mentioning that both NaviExpert founder and key programmers work at Faculty of Computer Science at Poznan University of Technology, which is the leading computer center in Poland. MCI has decided to realize that investment, because we can see the great potential in developing market if mobile services in Poland and around the world and we also strongly appreciate the technological and organizational qualifications of the company founders."

NaviExpert - first satellite navigation and road information system in Poland
NaviExpert system manufacturer is first in Poland to add road information to satellite navigation. NaviExpert is the navigation system that works with modern mobile phones. It is the only system in Poland that includes current roadworks and traffic reorganization in route planning.
Satellite navigation users in Western Europe have long known that real navigation should include current changes in traffic organization, ex. the roadworks. Is traditional navigation useful, when it guides us through theoretically best roads and we encounter a closed bridge and neighboring roads are blocked by heavy traffic jams? In western countries such information is provided by embedded car navigation systems or systems integrated with radio receivers that use RDS radio services. In Poland such solutions are unavailable - there is no system of RDS messages. Similar functions are offered by mobile phone-based systems in those countries.
How it works? The system operator continuously monitors information about planned and current roadworks. He cooperates with taxi and professional drivers, who provide and correct the information. Information on roadworks can also be reported by the users.
We are currently facing a difficult roadwork season in our cities. NaviExpert is the only system capable of evading such road obstructions. Example? There is a reparation of Staromiejski Bridge in Gorzow Wielkopolsk, on main road 3/E65 Poznań-Szczecin. The by-pass recommended by road-menders is very long. Even if NaviExpert user does not even know about the reparation, he or she will by-pass the closed bridge in a better way, as the local inhabitants would, by turning earlier onto a previous bridge.
Of course, NaviExpert offers all functions of traditional GPS navigation systems - it guides the user "from door to door" with precise voice messages. Nice, female voice informs on time about every maneuver and warns when the user drives off route. The system enables planning the route to specified address - the user can reach any of 1,5 million buildings in Poland or one of 50 thousand points of interest (companies, gas stations, ATMs, etc.) Close to the maneuver point the map is automatically zoomed in, so there is no doubt which street to turn into. Of course the system obeys turn signs and street directions.
Although NaviExpert offers much more than traditional navigation, it also has a very attractive price. It works with a mobile phone and is does not have to be an expensive model. The compatible phone models include almost all business phones. Many of them, like Nokia E61, has almost all functions as advanced PDAs. Many phones that cost 1 PLN are also compatible with the system, ex. Nokia 6230i, Nokia 6630, Sony Ericsson K750i and their numbers are still increasing.
Full NaviExpert functions can be appreciated only with a GPS module. However even without GPS the system is very useful. It is recommended to plan the route before the journey and check it for traffic obstructions. Even if we know our city very well, we often do not know perfect location of a given address. NaviExpert will immediately show us a map and indicate precise location of the spot.
