NaviExpert is the first Polish company, which qualified for the semifinals of the prestigious competition NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge. Finals will be held during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Prize in the competition is the pool of  2 million EURO.
The subject of entry to the contest is Monapi service (mobile online navigation API) designed by a team of NaviExpert programmers based on the online mobile navigation. Traditional navigation is a separate GPS solution, which can not be integrated with other systems. Developed by NaviExpert API (link) allows for the possibility of integrating GPS with other  systems. One of the applications of this system is a rapid notification sent to emergency or security services via mobile phone with the details on the fastest route.
Imagine that a car equipped with a special GPS monitoring device undergoes an accident. This device detects that an accident occurred, and automatically notifies the emergency services with the exact location of the incident. Immediately after the accident, the nearest lifeguard receives a special type of Text Message sent through Monapi, which automatically activates alarm and the navigation application. By pressing only one button a lifeguard can confirm the receipt of the notification and start navigating to the place of the incident. Precious seconds saved by switching immediately to navigation and Technology Community Traffic (to avoid the traffic jams) can save health or life of people. Monapi service can also be effectively used by companies operating on the basis of field workers such as  sales representatives, service operator , suppliers and security staff . It also serves individuals with ability to select, in a mobile phone or a special device, the SOS button. NaviExpert users will be able to exploit  Monapi to exchange points. To make an appointment with  friends they can send a Text Message with the directions to the meeting point.


"Monapi service is an innovative solution which significantly speeds up the response time of emergency services, supports activities of supply companies and increases the attractiveness of the on-line navigation for all users. The solutions presented at the Navteq Global LBS Challenge competition are not commercially available yet . We plan to implement Monapi in Poland in the next few months. Participation in the Finals of LBS Challenge is a great honour  for the company because of the high rank and prestige of this contest in the GPS navigation industry "- says NaviExpert President, Andrzej Jaszkiewicz.

Finalists are chosen by a distinguished group of judges in three regions: America, Europe, Middle-East, Africa, and Asia, Pacific. The jury of the competition are the top managers of the companies associated with wireless communication industry, cellular operators, phone manufacturers, IT platforms suppliers and Capital Venture groups. Within the five-year history of the competition more than 30 percent of the finalists has expanded its business in the market by introducing a number of innovative navigation solutions for wireless communication devices.
